How to play Chandigarh Street Rush
Eight auto-rickshaws, one lap of Chandigarh, and no rule against leaning on the horn. Everything you need is on this page — the game itself needs no download, no account and no plugin.
Play Chandigarh Street Rush ›Controls
Keyboard
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
| ↑ or W | Accelerate |
| ↓ or S | Brake, then reverse |
| ← → | Steer |
| Space, Shift or N | Nitro — only works when you have some in the tank |
| H | Horn (pom pom!) |
| C | Change camera — chase, far or roof |
| P or Esc | Pause |
| M | Mute |
| R | Respawn if you end up somewhere silly |
Controller
Xbox, PlayStation and most other game controllers work: plug one in or pair it, then press any button. The triggers and the stick are analogue, so you can feather the throttle and steer gently.
| Xbox | PlayStation | Does |
|---|---|---|
| RT or A | R2 or ✕ | Accelerate |
| LT or B | L2 or ○ | Brake, then reverse |
| Left stick or D-pad | Left stick or D-pad | Steer |
| X or RB | □ or R1 | Nitro |
| LB | L1 | Horn |
| Y | △ | Change camera |
| View | Create | Respawn |
| Menu | Options | Pause |
In the menus the D-pad moves between buttons, A (✕) picks one, B (○) goes back and LB / RB (L1 / R1) change auto.
The controller rumbles when you bump another auto, hit a wall, get flipped or burn nitro (in Chrome and Edge). Make it lighter or switch it off under Settings → Controller.
Phone and tablet
On a touchscreen the game switches to on-screen controls by itself: steering buttons on the left, the GAS and BRAKE pedals on the right, and the nitro button above GAS. Hold the phone in landscape — the track is wide and you want to see what is coming.
The gear button on the home screen opens the settings, with every control for keyboard, controller and touch, and separate volumes for the music and the sound effects.
Nitro
Blue N₂O canisters sit on the racing line all around the circuit. Drive over one and it goes into your tank; press Space to burn it. Two things are worth knowing:
- Nitro does nothing while you are braking, so spend it on a straight — the Sector 17 Plaza run and the flyover descent are the two that pay.
- Every canister you use is also worth points, so a lap where you collect and spend everything earns more than a clean, cautious one.
Race settings
Four choices on the menu screen, all of which change how a race feels:
- Laps — 1, 3 or 5. Rewards scale with the distance.
- Rivals — Easy, Normal or Hard. Harder rivals brake later and defend the inside line, and they multiply your points: Easy pays 0.8×, Normal 1×, Hard 1.5×.
- Time — sunset or night. Night is darker, prettier and harder to read.
- Weather — clear or rain. In the wet there is less grip, longer braking distances and a lot of spray off the auto in front.
Earning points
Points buy new autos and upgrades. They are only banked when a race actually finishes, so restarting on lap one to farm the first-corner overtakes pays nothing. Before the difficulty multiplier:
| For | Points |
|---|---|
| Finishing 1st → 8th | 500 / 300 / 200 / 120 / 80 / 60 / 40 / 20 |
| Every overtake | 50 |
| Chaining another one within 3.5 s | +25 each |
| A kilometre flat out without lifting | 100 |
| Each nitro canister used | 10 |
| A perfect start off the line | 50 |
| Beating your own lap record | 100 |
| Completing a lap in the lead | 50 |
| Finishing without a serious hit | 150 |
| Three wins in a row | 750 |
There is a daily bonus too — 100 points the first day, rising to 1,000 on the seventh consecutive day and staying there.
Six things that make you quicker
- Brake in a straight line. An auto-rickshaw has three wheels; ask it to brake and turn at once and it will pick one.
- Get on the power early. Out of a slow corner, accel matters far more than top speed. This is why the Bijli Blue is so good.
- Use the whole road. Wide in, apex late, and let it run out to the far kerb — especially through the Sector 22 Market section.
- Overtake on the brakes, not on the straight. The CPU rivals defend the inside line, so a switchback out of the corner works better than sitting in their tow.
- Keep it clean. The no-scratch bonus is worth more than most overtakes, and a wall costs you far more time than it looks.
- Race on Hard once you can win on Normal. The 1.5× multiplier is the fastest way to afford the Raja Red.
Playing with friends
Play with friends on the menu opens a room and gives you a four-digit PIN. Anyone who types that PIN into the same screen joins your race — up to eight of you, on any mix of phones and laptops, with no account and no install. The host picks laps, rivals, time of day and weather, and starts the race when everyone is in.
Rooms are temporary: when the last person leaves, the room and everything in it is gone. What the server does with your name and IP address is set out on the privacy page.
Trouble
The game won't load
Chandigarh Street Rush needs WebGL2, which every browser released in the last several years supports. If you see a black screen, check that hardware acceleration is switched on in your browser settings, then reload.
It runs slowly
Close other tabs first — a 3D game and twenty tabs do not share a laptop well. On an older machine, racing at night with clear weather is the lightest combination.
There's no sound
Browsers block audio until you interact with the page, so the engine note starts after your first click or tap. If it is still silent, press M — you may have muted it — and check the music and effects volumes in the settings (the gear on the home screen).
